10 Messed Up Things About Our Generation-- And Some Solutions

Updated: May 16, 2022

10 (of many) messed up things about our generation that WE have the power to fix ↓ ↓ ↓

1.) We judge others based off what we see on social media.

We should get to know a person before making false accusations about them.

2.) Our romantic relationships apparently aren’t actual relationships until it’s made “official."

Most of the time, this is just an easy way to "have fun" and play with people’s feelings. Take a moment and think about that for a second.

3.) Bullying is “just a joke” because it’s online and gets “clout."

Words hurt. No one should have to go to sleep at night hurting because of your “joke.” Treat others the way YOU want to be treated. We are all human.

4.) We place others in categories based off of one situation without knowing the full story.

Everyone is different. There is usually a motive for someone’s actions. Know the full story before you spread the wrong story.

5.) Traditional mannerisms are almost gone with our younger generations (saying please & thank you, following the LAWS, and respecting our elders).

Be a role model for the children who look up to us. And stop calling people “Karen’s,” “boomers,” & other stereotypical names.

6.) We lower our standards with lots of things because “that’s just the way things are now.”

You need to find what works for you in your life. DO NOT settle for less. Get what you need out of life.

7.) The need for instant gratification.

We think something is wrong when someone doesn’t reply to us immediately... it’s sad. When you are feeling sad that you haven't heard from that person, walk away from your phone and find something else that makes you happy!

8.) People body shame others making them feel the need to look a certain way.

It doesn’t matter who you are or what you look like, you are beautiful, and no one should be telling you how you are supposed to look :) Again, think before you speak/act!

9.) People silence others because they don’t agree with them.

We need to understand the other side of the argument and be inclusive to everyone no matter what. We shouldn't want to live in a world where everyone thinks the exact same way. A beautiful part of humanity is our ability to think for ourselves. In response to that, we can control our actions but not what others say. Lead by example to spread love.

10.) We spend too much time on our phones instead of taking in what’s going on around us.

I have used this example in another blog, and will probably use it again. Check your screen time. Now add up all the days you’ve wasted (for the most part) on your phone. You won’t get those real moments back. Life is already too short. Put down your phone.

That’s it. Do what you want with this. Be kind. Stay healthy.

We have the power to change the world by our actions!
